About us
We welcome you to the Latin Childhood website: Observatory for monitoring the rights of girls, boys and adolescents in Latin America and the Caribbean.
LATIN CHILDHOOD is a Regional Observatory that provides quantitative and qualitative information on the degree of compliance with children's rights in Latin America and the Caribbean based on the international human rights framework. We provide guidance to solve the problems that affect children through actions such as improving public policies and promoting investment in children.
In the Observatory you will find indicators from official and updated sources, as well as examples of best practices, comparative studies and tools that show the current situation of children and adolescents in the region.
We are specialists in developing innovative methodologies, involving various actors, to address the challenges faced by children and strengthen institutional responses on the rights of girls, boys and adolescents and promote compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the international human rights standards.
Weaving Childhood Nets
INFANCIA LATINA is part of the initiative Weaving Childhood Networks in Latin America and the Caribbean. Weaving Children's Networks seeks to contribute to the generation of significant changes in public and budgetary policies, as well as in social and cultural structures, through organizational strengthening; capacity development; expanding the participation of girls, boys and adolescents; and the articulated promotion of political advocacy processes to advance the guarantee of children's rights in Latin America and the Caribbean.
As of its third year of implementation, the initiative has had the participation of 26 networks of civil society organizations that work for the rights of children and adolescents in 20 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
