Within the framework of the project implementation #TejiendoRedesInfancia And with the aim of strengthening the Latin American and Caribbean platform that works for children, a Regional Observatory for the advancement and innovation in the field of the rights of girls, boys and adolescents was established: “Latin Childhood”.
TejiendoRedesInfancia has encouraged various coalitions and national networks to integrate National Observatories of Childhood and Adolescence in Latin America and the Caribbean, monitoring the well-being and quality of life of the child population.
The Regional Observatory also provides quantitative and qualitative information on the degree of compliance with children's rights in Latin America and the Caribbean, to strengthen institutional responses regarding the rights of girls, boys and adolescents; it also reports on the progress made in the region and promotes the exchange of international experiences, providing solid input for national processes aimed at implementing the international human rights framework.
In this context, the publication Armed Violence and its effects on childhood and adolescence is presented as a case study of the Coalition against the involvement of children and young people in the armed conflict in Colombia, so that its findings and lessons learned can be a reference for the Latin American and Caribbean region.
